SPAM
Prior to activating a membership request, We (wichozannivillage.org) may test each IP address for spam activity.  If a new account request (or inactive user) has an active IP address SPAM alert,  that account will not be activated (or temporarily de-activated). 
 
SPAM alerts may happen if your email address is being hijacked by a spammer.
Also, If a User Registration seems suspicious (spam), it will also not be activated until the Administrator determines that it is a legitimate request.

Cookies

Members Information
If a user wishes to access our Member Areas, we require contact information in the form of a User Name and email address which are stored in our system.  We require this information because our website is member based and our system will not create user access without that basic information.
We may at times also ask for and store geographic location and demographics which is optional for the User.
At times, We may also ask for more personally Identifiable information from a user, such as a real name, mailing address or phone number if necessary to fulfill a service request of the user.
The User may at any time, request their personally identifiable information be deleted from their user account file by contacting the Admin in the “Contact Us” Link area of the website.
Occasionally, the Admin of this website may need to access a Member's user account in order to provide services related to the Membership of the website.  For instance, to help a member update a password or to check on issues the Member may be having on the site or to make sure that the user's account is set up correctly (for certain groups, conversations, etc).  The Admin can not see a User's Password and does not keep track of any temporary passwords issued.  It is the Member's responsibility to update permanent passwords.  All Members of this website acknowledge and give permission to the Website Admin(s) to access their user account for these purposes.
 
Log Files
As mentioned previously, We have access to IP addresses and may use them to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movements on the site and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.  IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information other than when a user logs in. In other words, when a user logs in to our website, the IP address for that user is visible to our Website Admin(s).

We may at times share aggregated demographic information with our project partners and advertisers. This is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person.

NewsLetter / Mail Lists / Blogs/Forums
If a user subscribes to a newsletter, mailing list or blog or forum, we may ask for contact information, such as a Users actual name, mailing address and/or phone number.  WichozanniVillage.org does not necessarily agree with or support the views of some members that participate in forums/blogs, etc. on this site. If a User is a member of certain Group on this website they may be automatically subscribed to a Group Newsletter/Mailing List/Blog/Forum etc., for convenient Group communication, however the member may unsubscribe at any time by logging in and clicking the appropriate unsubscribe button or by contacting the Admin and requesting to be unsubscribed by clicking on the “Contact Us” link.
 
Survey and Contests
From time to time our site may request information from users via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whither or not to disclose this information.  Information requested may include contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code and age level).  Contact information will be used to notify members where this kind of information is pertinent.  Survey information will be used for the purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site.

Security
This website takes every precaution to protect our user's information. When users submit sensitive information via our website, we do our best to protected it both on-line and off-line.  All of our user's information, (not just the sensitive information mentioned above) is restrictive only to Council Members (and Project Moderators) that need information to perform a specific purpose.  Our Council Members (and Project Moderators) must use password protected screen-savers when they leave their computer.  When they return they must re-enter their password to regain access when using your information.  Furthermore, all Council Members (and Project Moderators) are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices.  Any time new policies are added, our Council Members (and Project Moderators) are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on privacy and what they can do to insure our visitor's and member's information is protected.  The servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secure environment., but Wichozanni Village can not guarantee against unforeseen breaches/hacks.  Wichozanni Village may be required to cooperate with law enforcement for investigations to protect the security and privacy rights of our members.  If you have any questions about the security at our website, you can use the Contact Us link.
 
Site and Service Updates
Our System should send all new members a welcoming email to verify password and user names.  We also may send the user site and service announcement updates.  We communicate with the user to provide requested services and in regard to issues relating to their account via email or private messages from within our website if applicable.
 
Correcting / Updating Personal Information
If a user's personally identifiable information that they have voluntarily provided changes or if a user no longer desires our service, we will endeavor to provide a way to correct, update or remove that user's personal data provided to us.  This can be done by contacting the website Admin.
All Users participating in writing Articles or commenting in forums, etc. give Us, Wichozanni Village .org, permission to store and maintain these Articles and comments on this Website and/or to include them in Archives even if the members user account is removed from the Website, unless user requests all personal Articles and comments be removed.  If a User has uploaded personal photos or content and changes their mind about it being presented or stored on our website and is unable to remove it themselves, please contact the Admin located on the Contact Us link.  We will make an effort to delete these items for the member.  The User also understands and accepts that depending on the amount of user activity of this website, it may not be possible to locate every comment or detail of a User's use on this website and user will not hold Wichozanni Village responsible for data that may have been overlooked for removal.
 
Wichozanni Village(.org) is not responsible for lost user accounts or user data as a result of technical failures. In the case of technical failures, wichozannivillage.org will make every effort to restore all user accounts and then advise users to create new passwords for security purposes.
